Geely has entered into a deal to purchase Volvo from Ford for $1.8 B.  This follows last year’s sales of Land Rover and Jaguar to India (Tata).  It is a great strategic move for Geely:  access to international markets, exposure of the Volvo brand to the rapidly increasing domestic market, and, I would think, significant transfer of know-how to China.
