Russia’s Economic And Political System – Oxymoron At Its Core
I came across an interesting article in the Economist reflecting on the evolution of the Russian economy from the collapse of communism in mid eighties to high concentration of wealth, oligarchs and corruption in 2010. While the country itself “on paper” has all the ingredients necessary for success, the tough reality of lawlessness, political instability, fear of change and lack of real democracy prevent it from taking a leap forward.
