Oil & Gas
There were 86 transactions in the North American Oil & Gas sector in Q3 2015, totaling C$41.1 billion. This is a 25% increase in number of deals and a 81% increase in deal value compared to Q2 2015.
Compared to Q3 2014, there was a 19% decrease in number of deals and a 35% increase in deal value. Year-to-date 2015 saw a total decrease of 35% in deal volume and a 23% decrease in deal value compared to the first three quarters of 2014.
Transaction value is likely inflated by the change in exchange rate.
Transaction scope includes explorers, producers, service companies and refineries.
Metals & Mining
There were 58 transactions in the North American Metals & Mining sector in Q3 2015, totaling C$1.4 billion. This is a 76% increase in number of deals and a 5% decrease in deal value compared to Q2 2015.
Compared to Q3 2014, there was a 12% increase in number of deals and 74% decrease in deal value. Year-to-date 2015 saw a total decrease of 25% in deal volume and a 53% decrease in deal value compared to the first three quarters of 2014.
