Gowling Henderson Lafleur’s David Cohen has been elected as president of the international Turnaround Management Association.

Cohen, who has been a TMA member for 15 years and served the organization in various leadership capacities, will start his one-year term on Jan. 1, 2016. Thereafter, he will be global chair for a year followed by another year as past chair and chair of the leadership nominating committee.

TMA is the world’s largest organization dedicated to turnaround management, corporate restructuring and distress investing. Its more than 9,000 members across 52 chapters worldwide include turnaround practitioners, chief restructuring officers, lawyers, accountants, financial advisers, liquidators, executive recruiters and consultants, as well as academics, government employees and judiciary.
